18 Aug Knowledge Boost for Lvnwwda Procurement Team
The procurement department plays a pivotal role in organizations: government or non- governmental. The department is tasked with ensuring an organization is able to carry out its’ daily operations successfully e.g. through purchasing items, receiving and inspecting goods/ services, negotiating cost of items with suppliers, preparing service contracts, issuing purchase/service orders and keeping record of all the steps in the process.
For the department to perform its’ duties and responsibilities diligently, it is requisite for the staff to be adept by having apposite knowledge and skills that will magnify the departments’ efficacy. Appertaining to this, LVNWWDA procurement team took part in a 2 day (13th-17th July 2020) training exercise on “Training & Submitting Documents to the Public Procurement Information Portal (PPIP) at the agency’s lower board room. The training was in pursuant to the Mandatory reporting requirement in Public Procurement Regulatory Authority: Circular No: 04/2022. The exercise was facilitated by Ms. Betty Cherotich and Mr. Renson Odari: Procurement Officials from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
The training denotes the Agency’s compliance with Section 158 of the Public Procurement Disposal Act 2015 and Executive Order No.2 of 2018/ Procurement of Public Goods and services by Public Entity. Additionally, it was in line with one of the agency’s objectives and strategies: Strengthening
