20 Dec LVNWWDA holds an Introductory Meeting with Governor Otuoma.
On 7/12/2022, a team from LVNWWDA led by the Chairman Board of Directors Hon. Julius Bakasa Wasike, HSC held a meeting with the Governor Busia County: H.E Dr Paul Otuoma, to discuss the progress of projects undertaken by the Agency in Busia County.
H. E Dr. Otuoma expressed his gratitude to the Agency for the excellent work in establishing numerous water and sanitation infrastructure that benefit the residents of Busia County. “The Agency has done an exemplary job in Busia County and we are ready to cooperate with you to continue provision of clean and safe water to our people,” he said. Additionally, he reported that Busia County is experiencing scarcity of water due to the high cost of electricity and urged LVNWWDA to come up with solutions to the issue.
Chairman Hon. Bakasa Wasike commented that the Agency is ready to partner with Busia County and other stakeholders in coming up with a hybrid solar system which will help reduce energy cost. “A hybrid solar system will make water supply cheaper. We are also in the process of carrying a feasibility study to come up with a gravity water supply system to reduce production cost,” he said.
CPA Anthony Kisaka who represented the Agency’s CEO accompanied by Engineer Dickson Opiyo, Mr. Tom Musungu and Madam Jackline Wanjala took the Governor through projects established by LVNWWDA in Busia County and their status.
