Lvnwwda Opening Of Tenders

A tender is a submission made by a prospective supplier of goods or services. The tendering exercise aims to eliminate favoritism and biasness in awarding works to companies. Furthermore, it enables the client to achieve the value of money, thus saving without compromising on quality, encourages healthy competition and offers a platform for new firms to enter the market.
Like all other Government Institutions, Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency partakes in the tendering process, with the procurement division playing a secretariat role in the process i.e. ensuring effective organizing of meetings, minute taking, communication and correspondence, upholding the legal requirements of governing documents, maintaining formal records etc.
The agency advertises tenders in different categories e.g. Construction, Supplies and Service Provision. Ensuing adverts on the agency’s website, on the Public Procurement Information Portal (PPIP) and on the daily newspaper, the agency received bids on the advertised tenders from various service providers.
On 12/7/2022, a committee constituting of four LNWWDA staff partook in opening of financial envelopes for Financial Proposals for Consultancy Services for Environment and Social Impact Assessment, Resettlement, Action Plan Studies for Kakamega- Bungoma Bulk Water Supply & Sanitation Projects. Besides this, a separate committee also conducted a prequalification exercise for registration of suppliers and service providers for supply of goods and provision of services for years 2022-2024 on 28/6/2022. This was preceded by the opening of bids on the tender for Disposal of Motor Vehicles & motorcycles on 7/6/2022. Each tender opening exercise has different committee members who integrate the agency’s fundamental values in executing the exercises i.e. with utmost integrity and transparency.
